Intrastate Accreditation CommitteeIntrastate Accreditation Committee

The MSV is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) as an accreditor of intrastate providers of continuing medical education (CME). As such, the MSV accreditation program follows the ACCME’s Marker of Equivalency. Through the MSV Intrastate Accreditation Committee (IAC), Virginia CME providers are accredited and monitored for compliance with the Accreditation Criteria, Standards of Commercial Support and MSV Accreditation Policies. Accreditation decisions are made by the IAC for MSV providers through a process which involves review of submitted Self Study for Accreditation, select CME activity files, and from interviews with representatives of the applicant organization.

The purpose of the Specialty Advisory Council is to evaluate Advocacy Summit proposals and provide feedback and priorities to MSV’s Advocacy Committee from each participating specialty society. The Council will consist of one physician representative from each active medical specialty.
